Birthday: Robbie Robertson (7/5/43)

Born Jaime Royal Robertson in Toronto in 1943, he left home to pursue a career in music at age 16. As a founding member of The Band, Robertson turned their final performance into a launching pad for his career as a film composer. "The Last Waltz" was his first collaboration with director Martin Scorsese. Robertson died in 2023. We're remembering his music with The Band on these channels.
